Testicular pain: signs of severity

Pain or swelling in the testicles can cause concern. Whether chronic or acute, their onset should not be ignored.
Testicular pain is a feeling of pain or discomfort felt in one or both testicles. It can be acute or chronic, and may be accompanied by swelling, redness and sensitivity of the testicles.
Here are the signs of severity.

Pain of sudden and intense onset.
You should always fear testicular torsion.
In fact, the testicle is suspended by blood vessels that nourish it.
These vessels can turn and become obstructed, thus depriving the testicle of nutrients.
This leads to rapid destruction of the testicle with the disappearance of fertility and masculinity function.

Swollen and red testicle with persistent pain.
An infection called epididymo-orchitis (infection of the testicles) is usually below.
These conditions are caused by bacteria such as chlamydia and many others, or by viruses.
The infection can have a serious impact on fertility or form abscesses if left untreated.

A feeling of a hard or painless lump in a testicle.
Can be a sign of testicular cancer, especially in young boys (between 15 and 35 years old).
This cancer is very aggressive, so it grows quickly, but is easily treated if caught early.

Pain that extends to the groin or back.
A migrating kidney stone or a strangulated inguinal hernia may be the cause.
A kidney stone is a stone and, in this case, it is located in the urinary tract
Its presence can cause severe pain and sometimes significant complications (acute infections, kidney disease).

On the other hand, a strangulated inguinal hernia is a portion of intestine that enters an orifice that has been created and that wraps around this hole.
This part of the intestine deteriorates and creates a surgical emergency.

Fever associated with testicular pain.
This is most often a severe infection such as a complicated epidemic or an acute prostate infection.
When there is fever in this context, there is fear that the infection will pass into the blood and spread everywhere, creating sepsis which is a vital emergency.

Apart from temporary pain due to physical activity or uncomfortable and tight clothing, testicular pain is not normal and should not be taken lightly. If its onset is sudden and intense, it is necessary to consult a doctor urgently, and even more so if you observe a change in the shape of the testicle, swelling, or the appearance of fever. Testicular pain can be caused by a serious pathology, such as testicular torsion or testicular cancer, which requires immediate treatment.
